DIFABILITY IS NOT DISABILITY is a project that brought together in home area three different organizations. Organizations engaged in:- Youth (Youth Centre Postojna)- People with disabilities - people with mental disorders (SENT)- People with disabilities - a person with a physical disability (Institute ARS VIVA)They attempting to improve they work so they crossed the border of Slovenia and become partners with organizations in Romania, Georgia, Estonia and Kosovo.All organizations have a common goal to improve the quality of life of its users and here comes the Erasmus +. The participants from the above countries, from 5.01.2016 to 30.11.2016, will be volunteering in mentioned organizations.The number of participants is 9, of which 4 will have accompanying persons. They will come from Romania, persons with a physical disability. Mobility is taking place in different time intervals. Profile of participants:- NEETs come from Estonia and they are between 17 and 20 years old, no. participants is 2- Persons with special needs (need a companion), who come from Romania, aged between 18 and 25 years old (volunteers already participating in the organization in Romania and are involved in various events) - No. of participants is 4 + 2 companion- People with fewer opportunities coming from Georgia and Kosovo. Selection of participants is already made and are within the age group of 19 to 25 years, three persons. The needs and issues addressed by the project:- Proper recognition of the usefulness of participants- Social visibility useful for persons with disabilities- Meaning of the word "difability" - "different abilities"- To increase the knowledge of all participants of the project - knowledge of a foreign language ....- To increase the links between local organizations working in the field of disability and any organizations outside SloveniaThe needs of the project participants fall into one of these categories (for people with disabilities):- Strong sense of not belonging- Interest in art (painting, photography, film making)- Interest in nature and the environment- Interest in learning new things (create with clay, doing wood)- The desire for intercultural learning- Wish peace and understanding diversity- Learn about the work of the countryside- Learning a foreign languageFor participants who are among those with fewer opportunities, in addition to the above mentioned requirements needs to be added:- The desire to learn about the lives of people with disabilities - their mode of action- Want to learn how to help people with special needs not to enter into their private space and thus affectedWith this project we wish to improve their own image of persons with disabilities and enhance their social inclusion. At the same time we want to influence society and present them with their strength and abilities."Difability is not disability 'is an ideal opportunity to improve the self-esteem of participants with special needs and their volunteer work will increase not only their skills but also social skills of their users.The most important value of the project will be raised through the method of informal learning and this in:- Arts,- Creativity- Corporate Social Responsibility- Gender- Inclusion of young peopleThroughout the project, participants will learn their skills and gain the skills, such as:- Confidence- Confidence amongst other things,- Teamwork - The ability to communicate in a foreign language- Responsibility- A better perception of diversity- Acceptance of differences- Awareness of solidarity and inclusivenessThrough a better understanding of Erasmus + they will identify the potential of European citizenship and increase their European awareness.Satisfaction of participants - volunteers and service users and the environment in which they operate, due to cultural and personal diversity revived. We expect new ideas, new projects, which will be drawn both local authority and institutions such as schools and educational institutions. We expect an increase in users by Erasmus + as local volunteers. We expect to increase the employability of people with disabilities both at local and international level.
