Summary:Project: The sociological theories and policies on the European integration.This project comprehends two parts:The first part is a proposal to introduce four new courses in the masters and doctorate studies of political science within the Universidad de Guadalajara. The main goal is to promote the proliferation of master’s and doctoral thesis about the European Union.The courses planned for the master’s studies on political science are the following:1. Politics and government of the European Union 2. Integration processes of the European Union 3. The relationship between the European Union and Latin America The next seminar has been planned for the doctorate level:4. Sociological and political theories on European Integration (January 2017 – July 2017)The first research project addresses the theories that try to explain the creation of the European Union. It is our purpose to answer two questions above all:What theory is more appropriate to explain nowadays Europe’s integration, and its setbacks?Which elements in the theoretical debate in regards to the emergence of the European Union can contribute to the development of Latin-American integration?The second research project is a means to evaluate the consequences of the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Mexico over the governmental policies and the industry in the State of Jalisco. This is a field research project that gathers information, and evaluates it, through a survey to ministries and the members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the state of Jalisco.
