The diversity of people is to be considered by differentiated educational opportunities which is part of our school mission statement. It aims at a future-oriented training to the individual requirements of the trainees and to acquire comprehensive professional, social and personal skills which are necessary for a successful career. In order to individually support students in their development they need attractive and motivating learning opportunities that to develop job related knowledge, skills and abilities.The international project of the Wilhelm-Schickard-Schule Tübingen is part of the lived mission statement, by taking into the needs of students into account and offering them the chance to get involved into a project in which they can collect additional experience during their vocational training. It is the desire of many students to spend some time abroad and improve their language skills. The WSS Tübingen wants to support their trainees to acquire English language skills and to achieve quality learning outcomes for a successful education by offering attractive learning opportunities. The trainees shall be motivated by the experience of the stay abroad for a lifelong willingness to learn, being aware of common European values and incorporate them actively in society and working life.During to flows 10 vocational school students participate in a three-week international project in collaboration with the Tellus Group in Portsmouth. The trainees are in 2-3 year courses of the dual system in the commercial sector.In the first week 20 English lessons will be held that prepare them for the subsequent two-week internship. This content will be practiced in business standard situation and intercultural awareness at work will be further developed. In addition, country-specific social and cultural topics will be discuess.During the work experience job-related language skills can be applied and improved. Students will experience the professional life in the business environment foreign in a foreign country. They participate in meetings and get to know the operational processes. They compare the work processes and the kind of collegial collaboration with the experience from their previous company training.Participants acquire skills that can be transferred to future professional situations . This acquired skills increase the readiness to work in a company with international business relations. These experiences prepare them for the changing requirements of a European labor market in terms of flexibility , mobility and intercultural competence .
