PROJET
TERMINÉ
Our project „The Intercultural Dialogue – the dialogue of the future” will be held from the 1st June 2015 to the 1st June 2017.
OBJECTIVES:
- promotion of greater understanding of cultural, social and language diversity of Europe;
- growing in the respect & tolerance of other cultures and nationalities;
- development of social & civil competences;
- the increase of pupils’ motivation to learning English & the willingness to use it to become aware/conscious European citizen;
- infuse the willingness of language learning with the youngest kids;
- growth of language competences & methodological knowledge of courses participants;
- increase of the quality of teaching & learning foreign languages;
- support teachers’ development;
- raise the status and rank of our school in the local community and region;
- communication in English;
- get into international cooperation within eTwinning program;
- starting international cooperation within Erasmus+ KA2;
- promotion of Erasmus+ program in our region as well as the benefits it gives;
PARTICIPANTS:
There will be 14 teachers from ZOW in Strzala participating in the project – 1 preschool teacher, 3 teachers of young learners, 2 afterschool club teachers, 8 teachers of different subjects.
ACTIONS:
Before going abroad the teachers will undergo intensive language training at our school as a preparation to their mobilities. They will study tourist guide books to learn the geography and culture of the country in which the training take place and prepare a presentation about our institution and Gmina Siedlce. The main activities concern mobilities to the following countries: Malta, Portugal, Italy. After the abroad training the activities will refer to: internal training, preparation of a performance, help pupils with their English homework, creation a dictionary of geographical, biological and chemical foreign terms; making illustrated mini Polish-English phrase book; organizing among preschool children and young learners a program of taking care of their teeth and reading fairy tales in English, run sport competition in English, cooperation with other teachers within eTwinning. Information about our project and its results will be published on our school’s webpage and local press. The sum up of all actions of the project will be the Family Fete near our school. Teachers and pupils present the outcomes of their work within the project then which will be a promotion of Erasmus+ in our region.
METHODOLOGY:
- explaining methods (narration, storytelling, lectures, explanation);
- problem method (situational method, a preformance, educational games, discussions, brain-storming);
- display methods (a film, a play, an exposition, competitions)
- program methods;
- practical methods (show, projects – reading in English to children, “Healthy tooth”, sport exercises in English; help with homework, deployment to autodidacticism, communicational workshops);
OUTCOMES:
- internal training – use of eTwinning during classes and the role of intercultural competences in teachers’ and students’ development;
- getting to know other European countries and traditions;
- participation in courses to increase teachers’ language competences;
- increase of pupils’ language skills;
- ability to react to sport instructions, essential during international competition;
- application of new ideas during classes;
- realization of eTwinning project;
- sharing experience & ideas on the school websites;
- illustrated mini English-Polish phrase book;
LONG-TERM BENEFITS
- accession to a project within Erasmus+ KA2;
- cooperation and international exchange of pupils giving the students a chance to develop their language competences, getting to know other cultures as well as more aware participate in the European society;
- developing cooperation among teachers from other countries within eTwinning;
- sustaining friends made by students during eTwinning programs;
- teachers of different subjects who took part in English language course, in the future will be able to participate methodology course abroad in the area of their subjects and interests;
- encouraging other local schools through our own example to write and participate in Erasmus+ projects;
- gaining self-confidence in talking with others and building one personality;
- openness to other societies and respect of their cultural dissimilarities.
