Recent developments in the market of food and animal products imposed by new methods of production and installation of quality systems and in livestock. The food scandals of recent years alarmed consumers and led to a credibility crisis throughout the food industry to help to raise the interest and awareness of consumers in quality and safety aspects. Today, one can see the shift of consumers to health food products and biological products. In our country the conditions for the manufacture of these products and in view of their increased demand, are favorable.Farming and primary production of animal products is one of the main economic activities in mountain and upland communities of Magnesia. Local cooperative breeders associations formed by a large number of family-related enterprises that represent many thousands of farm animals. Although a low export orientation, they considered the most important productive sectors of the county. Animal products have strong export potential if applied biological methods in animal production and the dynamic marketing strategies.The EPAL of Velestino submit the project mainly to satisfy the students' training needs of the Agricultural sector - Technology of Food and Beverage, to meet modern development and sustainable model of organic farming and the management of animal products, that lends identity and high nutritional value. The students' training needs of EPAL of Velestino are directly linked and relevant to labor market needs, focusing primarily on:• basic knowledge of the principles of organic farming,• hygiene, safety and quality assurance systems / management certification in organic animal products (mainly meat and milk)• methods of treatment / processing of animal products of biological origin and production technologies for various new products from them Through the project, the beneficiaries are to gain valuable experience and important skills, which are expected to contribute to the upgrading of professional profile helping to reclaim and conquer merit a place in the labor market after graduation. Expected results of the project for the participants, is to:• Have the opportunity of a internship-training and work experience on the project’s subjects• Acquire new knowledge, skills and abilities in organic farming, the organic livestock production and management / processing with standards and procedures that maintain their qualitative characteristics• Promote and strengthen youth entrepreneurship by developing business in organic farming or in the management of organic livestock products• Come into contact with the culture of another European country by improving their language skills and developing a sense of European identity.Moreover anticipated:• Enhance the synergy and the interconnection of VET structures promoting employment agencies and businesses• The promotion, recognition and certification of skills acquired in training activities abroadThe project is planned to be implemented in a two-week flow that will involve 14 students and 2 teachers as accompanying persons. The beneficiaries of the project will visit the region of Linz (Austria), where the branches of the organic livestock production, management and processing of animal products and the food industry is highly developed and high quality delivery.Participants will follow a coherent program of activities with internship-training and thematic company visits, cultural visits and activities of know-how transfer and use, professional and personal development, language and cultural preparation.The host organization selected has extensive experience and expertise in the implementation of mobility projects. Following the implementation of the planned project in dissemination activities it is expected that the impact on the local community and in the region of Thessaly is very strong and will last several years.
