ΔΙΑΧΕΙΡΙΣΗ ΚΡΙΣΕΩΝ ΣΤΟ ΕΠΑΓΓΕΛΜΑΤΙΚΟ ΣΧΟΛΕΙΟ
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project entitled “Crisis Management in the context of Secondary Vocational Education” aims at dealing with instances of violence and degrading behaviour in general in the premises of the Technical Vocational School of Perama, which have resulted in a decrease in the student population and have had an impact on the school reputation within the local community. Through life-learning activities, oriented towards non-formal learning methods as well as the Spanish pedagogical model of “convivencia”(co-operation among educators-learners-local community), the 20 educators of our school, who possess high professional qualifications but lack experience in the latest educational practices, will be in a position to create those learning circumstances which promote both the students’ social skills and a spirit of co-operation in the school environment. At the same time, they will receive useful feedback on how to familiarize the local community with their work and the concept of vocational education as a whole, taking advantage of modern technology and the local media. On completion of the above project, it is expected that cases of violent behaviour inside the school environment will be diminished, the positive image of the school will be enhanced and the knowledge of the participants regarding educational issues will be updated. The benefits for the target educational institution are threefold and mainly consist in effective management of violence issues, quality upgrading of existing services and increase in the number of student population. As for the learners, they are the ones who will obviously benefit from a well-balanced, cooperative and modern educational environment, which will provide them with the skills to succeed in their future professional career. Undoubtedly, improving the quality of the Technical Vocational School of Perama is bound to foster the development of the local community, which is severely plagued by a number of socio-economic factors. In the long run, this project will promote the role of vocational education as an institution and increase its appeal to broader parts of the learner population.
