Brussels Education Center is a center for adult education offering language courses to students from 140 different countries within and outside the European Union, between 16 and 85 years old. We provide current, communicative, practical, cooperative and task based classes in order to match the profiles (employees, unemployed, ....) and cultural diversity of our students and help them with their needs in society. Our European Development Plan helps us to critically reflect on our working methods within an international context and meet the needs of our organization through participation in five structured courses. The participants are selected on the basis of their impact as pioneers within our organization. Gert Vos (French teacher) studies autonomous learning and intercultural skills (CAVILAM), Leen Croenen (German teacher), cooperative and dynamic learning (Goethe Institut), Jean-François Declerck (vice-director recrutement) social en transparent leadership (In Dialogue), Caroline Cajot (Dutch teacher) strategies for developing diversity (Eekhout Centrum) and Hans Smet (vice-director international projects) optimizing and leading international projects. We hope to acquire knowledge and skills related to pedagogics, innovation, intercultural relations, openness, flexibility, self-esteem, transparency, leadership and international relations. The learning outcome of these courses will help us provide an excellent learning experience and environment matching the profile and needs of our students and thus allowing them to better integrate in society and the local and/or national job market. The individual participants will share innovation and trends with their colleagues and our local and national partners. Thus we become a transparent, innovative and successful organization with motivated teachers who offer up-to-date high quality education that is relevant to society, locally and internationally.
