Development of Technical studies and plans for building a cross-border road Peneszlek-Curtuiseni-Valea lui Mihai (ROAD PE-CU-VM)

The project helps to solve a local problem in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Bihor counties – the lack of any direct connection between Valea lui Mihai and Curtuiseni and Penészlek. The length of the planned road is 23,5 km (rehabilitation and construction) and the track starts from Valea lui Mihai and from Curtuiseni to a common point and goes through the Romanian-Hungarian border and reaches Penészlek.General objective:Increasing the accessibility for 3 territorial-administrative units from the border area.Specific objectives:1. Developing the necessary documentation for a road linking 3 territorial-administrative units over the border.2. Designing a joint technical solution for reducing the travel distance between the 3 administrative-territorial units.3. Creating the proper framework of submitting a subsequent project on building the infrastructure in the 3 territorial-administrative units.The main activity of the project is the elaboration of specialized studies and plans (Development of Joint feasibility study, Development of Joint Cost-benefit analysis, Development of feasibility study, topographical study, geological study, technical plans and authorization for the Romania side of the road, Development of technical plans for the Hungarian side of the road).Direct beneficiaries of the project: the 3 local councils involved in the project, the inhabitants of Peneszlek, the inhabitants from Valea lui Mihai Town and the inhabitants from Curtuiseni Commune.Project results: 7 studies and plans elaborated.
