The project aims to assist the development of cross-border research cooperationbetween agricultural research and educational institutions in Hungary andRomania. Research involves the exchange and joint production of wheat andother cereals resistant to stress, and the physiological, pathological and moleculargenetic characterization of Hungarian and Romanian cereals. As a result of the project, new species adapted to the region were started to be introduced in both countries. Opportunities were provided for getting mutually acquainted with state-of-theart methods and for launching joint improvement projects. The results yielded areintegrated in tertiary training programs.
