Development of open source software and interactive teaching tools for mathematics (SOFTMAT)
Date du début: 31 mars 2012, Date de fin: 30 mars 2013 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project aims to achieve an attractive presentation of study courses which, using examples and computer programmes will lead to a better understanding of concepts, to the development of interest in studying and to a more frequest use of mathematics. The classic way of teaching and abstract character of mathematical concepts can discourage pupils and students to study mathematics. The solutions proposed to address these common needs, identified on both sides of the border will lead to similar results in the two partner institutions, namely a better understanding of mathematical concepts and increased skills in using computer programs for solving different classes of problems. The direct beneficiaries of the project are a group of 40 students from Hungary and 40 students from Romania studying in computer and mathematical profile. Stimulating learning mathematics disciplines based on computer programs for these students will lead to basic knowledge and skills for labour market insertion and personal development. Using the visibility events (competitions, workshops, conferences) and through free access to electronic media, lecturers and students from other faculties of mathematics and computer science are considered indirect beneficiaries.
