The 'Information statistician and designer in economics' programme being developed by this project will introduce the concept of post-secondary training programmes and advanced level vocational training to the economics sector. This will strengthen the relationship between higher education and the sector and improve competencies. The need for practical qualifications accompanied by well-developed communication skills is well established in the European labour market. This course will provide participants with current theoretical professional knowledge at national and European level and advanced language and information communication skills.Following a summary and analysis of established practices in partner organisations, printed and interactive teaching materials will be developed and tested by the partnership, including tools for self- and teacher assessment. The students will acquire credit points that can be used if their education is continued at a higher level or to improve their employability should they decide to enter the labour market following the training. Teachers and national trainers in the partner countries will use the materials in their courses. Further dissemination will take place through conference presentations, the web-site and through the press.
