Development of Computer-aided Methods in Teaching Mathematics and Science

The general progress of a region is greatly influenced by the development of creativity, problem-solving skills, and applicable knowledge in natural sciences. An important part of this development is the efficient use of computer-aided methods, e.g., modelling, visualization, planning and experimentation in the fields of research, education, medical care and environmental protection. The mirror project partners, the Faculty of Science of the University of Novi Sad, and the University of Szeged, have been working for a long time on developing computer-aided methods in research and education, and their stronger co-operation would result in the progress of both regions. The methods of computer-aided modeling are presented through intensive courses organized by the partners (Faculty of Science, Novi Sad, and University of Szeged), and embedded in the undergraduate, graduate and PhD courses at partner institutions, and further improvement of teacher education. Moreover, the planned exchange of participants and teachers alike will allow for a much closer co-operation between the partner institutions.
