Date du début: 2 janv. 2005, Date de fin: 1 janv. 2007 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Many of cultural heritage objects (c.h.o.) in the Baltic Sea Region are endangered or even ruined, mostly due to the lack of financial support and low perception of their significance as well as lack of experience and unused opportunities regarding their management. CASTLES OF TOMORROW project aimed at the promotion, safeguarding, preservation and development of castles and manors as cultural heritage objects and town-centres of rural areas in the Baltic Sea Region by providing support to cultural heritage operators. The project concretely addressed the need to raise the general awareness level among both, the public and specialists about approaches and methods to capitalise on the potential of cultural heritage objects to ensure their sustainability. Achievements: The project has strengthened trans-national co-operation, networks and sustainable practices related management of cultural heritage in rural areas, improved competence and touristy capacity of several c.h.o. as examples for other places and thereby contributed to strengthening economic, social and special cohesion of the BSR. Several new project ideas in the field of culture heritage preservation and development have been identified by project partnership and pursued.
