Development of a Multi and Hyperspectrale imagery platform, to the expertise, decision-making and to help in the environment management. (PIMHAI)
Date du début: 31 déc. 2003, Date de fin: 30 juin 2008 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This is a project aiming at using images from many different sources to address environmental issues and more widely town and country planning. To solve the problems related to this new field of investigation, the project will use sophisticated methods involving NITC. There are two actions to be carried out:- The first consists in evaluating the methods grouped by batch* (for example: filtering-restoration, reduction of spectral bands, registration/geo-referencing, software specification, and so on) and finalising the methods currently being developed. Evaluations will be conducted on the data acquired in the project or on data of an identical nature. The methods selected in each batch would be integrated in a software platform;- The second action consists in evaluating the overall platform on the actual data from priority applications in each region (e.g.: the Marais Poitevin in the Poitou-Charentes region, the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, etc.). Achievements:  - Operational implementation of the platform for acquisition/processing/analysis of hyper spectral images: Integration of tools and methods tailored to decision-making and providing some answers to the following sectors: environment monitoring (characterisation, diagnostic of agriculture-related activities); risk prevention and observation of the state of the environment; improvement of knowledge (analysis of environmental information; state of the resources: crops, forests) - Structuring of the Platform (MMI, kernel, specific libraries) data presentation and processing. - Evaluation/validation in enhancement collaborations. - Development of a software program to aid navigation for acquisition campaigns. - Development of a series of methods and techniques for processing and managing, and applications in the environment of multi and hyper spectral imaging. - Data acquisition campaigns: A campaign by light airplane with a combination of data captors for multi- and hyper-spectral data and auxiliary data for the development, validation, testing and demonstration of techniques and methods was carried out. - Constitution of a network of laboratories
