Developing working tools and methods how to reach young people aged 13-22 in disadvantaged socio-economic areas.
The overall project idea is to develop methods and communication tools how to reach young people who the partner organisations normally don’t reach.
In Europe one of five main aims for EU 2020 is to strengthen social inclusion, equality and active citizenship.
The aim with the project is to foster the inclusion and employment of young people with fewer opportunities. A common challenge for the partners is to reach those young people who are beyond our organisations space. Young people who might be out of work, education and social context.
The project will focus on Non-formal learning methods and will meet the specific objectives to promote participation for young people, active citizenship and social inclusion and solidarity in a democratic life.
The project has five project partners from the UK, France, Germany, Finland and Sweden. The partnership will together bring experiences, activities and exchange skills and knowledge to increase and strengthening training paths of educators and youth workers.
Target groups:
Persons working with young people aged 13-22 in the socio-economics disadvantaged areas: Youth workers and teachers.
Beneficiaries: Young people aged 13-22 living in the socio-economics disadvantaged areas.
Activities:
The project will have four transnational meetings, one transnational training and three local practical workshops. Between each activity there will be evaluations and follow up. There will be two Intellectual outputs: “Research, analysis and studies of the young people aged 13-22” (O1) and “Website with on-line Guideline with methods and manuals for youth workers and teachers to use and a virtual collaboration” (O2). There will be five parallel Multiplier events in each partner country.
Expected results:
When the project is to end we have increased the numbers of young people in the vulnerable social-economic areas that take part in our organizations activities, have better communication tools and a wide range of new methods in non-formal based education. Also an on-line guide with methods and working tools for youth workers and teachers is produced. This online guide will have open access for all.
Long-term benefits: Young people with fewer opportunities are taking a more active role in the local society, participating in local activities and are active in NGOs, education and health supporting activates.
After this project the partnership will apply for a KA 1 Mobility Youth Exchange and a KA 1 Mobility job shadowing for youth workers and teachers.
