LogOn Baltic improved spatial integration by transferring knowledge in ICT and logistics competence. The main objective is to produce and disseminate information for regional development agencies on how to support enterprises in the participating regions in their effort to improve ICT and logistics competence, thus improving regional development.Objectives of the project: identifying development agencies and evaluating their performance in selected BSR regions, evaluating the level of logistics and ICT efficiency and suggesting concrete actions for regional and local public sector bodies.The main activities in the LogOn Baltic project included: development of the project research model and methodology; gathering of information by performing logistics and ICT surveys among the companies in each region; performing Expert Interviews with representatives from business, universities and authorities in each region; studying and evaluating the development system, development organisations and chosen specific development measures in each region; reviewing and analysing the research results, and making conclusions and recommendations in each region consolidating the regional findings to BSR level; making comparisons between regions, identification of best practices and making conclusions and recommendations; dissemination of the results both regionally and on BSR as well as overall EU-level. Achievements: LogOn Baltic has provided: a generic research model (Analytical Framework), which can be used for regional comparison of spatial planning, logistics and ICT competence; results from 2 surveys with 2,500+ responses from companies, experts and scholars; In-depth regional analysis on regional development, spatial planning and logistics & ICT competence compiled into over 40 reports from the Partner regions; Analyses of regional results; published in 7 BSR-level Master reports suggestions and recommendations for improvements within the project scope, both on regional and BSR-level, some of which has already been initiated highly useful results for regional development agencies and other relevant stakeholders in the BSR as well as on EU level seminars held in all Partner countries and one major dissemination event in Brussels suggestions to concrete extension projects.
