Developing a Key Competences Model for University Postgraduate Programmes
Date du début: 1 oct. 2011,

The PROPOUND project has a double objective: a) to introduce and apply a methodology of identification and evaluation of transversal competences, key for employability, in the Postgraduate Programmes in several European Universities and b) to design and disseminate innovative strategies and models for the curricular reform of the Postgraduate Programmes, aimed to promote the training and development in these competences. One of the priorities of the Modernisation Agenda for the European Universities of 2006, and essential requirement to contribute to the objectives of the European Strategy 2020, is to improve the match between the graduates´ qualifications and the labour market demands. The project develops two main phases: a) the presentation and implementation of the model of identification and evaluation of key competences in a collective of 125 graduates, beneficiaries of Postgraduate Programmes at five European Universities (Spain, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Estonia) and b) the exchange of best practices between the European partners for the joint design of new strategies of reform of Postgraduate Programmes in training and development of key competences. The main results of the project are: a) a set of methodologies of identification and evaluation of transversal competences, key for employability and b) an Action Plan (with strategies and models “Taylor made” based on the promotion and acquisition of key competences) potentially to be incorporated transversally in all the phases of the Postgraduate Programmes. The project has an immediate and direct impact on the restructuration and improvement of the Postgraduate Programmes, promoting that the students acquire not only the specialised knowledge in their disciplines, but also the transversal competences that will allow them to adapt the changing needs of the labour markets and to increase their productivity.
