(Please note the initial application was for 4 schools-only one was successful) The group of four schools in our Multi Academy Trust are seeking good practice examples to use to improve the quality of our own schools. The group will consist of 3 head teachers from the 4 schools. Our objectives include; Research and innovation Inclusion ? equity Pedagogy and didactics An understanding of school leadership in other countries, bringing these ideas into a UK classroom. Disseminating knowledge acquired to other schools/leaders in Multi Academy Trust. Visits to Finland's schools will take place, where detailed observations of their practices, curriculum and strategies will take place. Each visit will be evaluated and reported. The project will impact on upwards of 75 staff, and over 700 children through dissemination upon return. The project will develop knowledge and understanding of the education system in Finland in order to broaden the Headteachers? understanding of practices and policies. The project will increase competencies within participants? own practice . The project will enable the head teacher to improve management skills in order to operate within an international setting The head teacher will be given the provide an opportunity to share good practice and evaluate own practice in order to integrate new approaches over the following months and years. The project gives the head teacher the opportunity to work collaboratively in developing plans for modernisation and of own practice both whilst in Finland, and upon return to the UK. The training courses will support the professional development of the headteachers, impacting on their confidence and knowledge of current and up-to-date language, culture, teaching methods, use of ICT, strategies to engage learners and parents etc. This may give you the opportunity to set up future exchanges and projects helping develop a more European dimension to your school.
