Designing Web Pages Using Programming Environment
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Colegiul National Simion Barnutiu identifies a need of its students to complete their theoretical studies with a practical component by participating to European internships capable to develop we d design vocational skills by using PHP programming and MySQL relational database integration. This needs have their roots in a mainly theoretical study of web page creation, programming and computer use, for the students following the informatics classes and in curricular restrictions as the students are following and intensive English language study line instead of intensive Informatics, with fewer application lessons, which gives a lower quality end products when these students are attending their Informatics’ skills certification exam. These practical works, done by the school leaving students are not in agreement with the demands of a dynamic and competitive information market. The general objective for the proposed project is: Involving 20 students, XI-th and XII-th graders from Mathematics-Informatics classes, in professional development actions through European internships in companies dealing with informatics in order to develop among them digital key competences, skills and practical abilities specific for programming and web design. This will lead to a higher quality end products of their works, in accordance with the demands of the business environment for web pages, ensuring in the same time a higher insertion rate in a very competitive and in the same time very dynamic labor market, based on applications. The three specific objectives are assumed:O1 Developing basic competences in object oriented PHP programming for a group of 20 students studying Mathematics-Informatics involved in a three weeks internship in Granada, Spain having aiming the web page design and creation.O2 Developing, for 20 students studying Mathematics-Informatics, basic competences for primary management of relational MySQL databases through the PHP programming language in order to develop database containing web pages.O3 Diversifying the language and multicultural experience of 20 youngsters due to a transnational partnership allowing a 3 week internship in Spanish companiesThe target group of the project is represented by 20 students from XI-th and XII-th grade, in the age range of 16-18 years old, studying Mathematics-Informatics (both Romanian and Hungarian study lines) split in 2 flows ready to do a 3 week internship to a web design company in Granada, Spain. Their selection will be done upon an operational procedure, realized at the start of the project and which is based on several principles such as: gender equality, transparency and avoiding conflict of interest. The main activities envisaged are practical design activities, creating web pages using objectual PHP programming, MySQL inter-relational database creation and their integration in the PHP files. The created web pages will be subjected to an on-line exhibition showing the students’end products. Following the stage, as sustainability of the actions done in the project, the involved students will participate to the school’s web site upgrading and developing process and they will create a practical work portfolio for their final Informatics skills certification examination. As final results of the internship the following results are identified: basic competences in object oriented PHP programming of the web pages generating at the end 20 different web sites; basic competences for primary management of relational MySQL databases through the PHP programming language and other direct and indirect results subsequent to various actions done within the project fostering also the inter-cultural and language skills development.A significant impact is foreseen in therms of superior vocational capacities leading to a higher quality level for the participants and an obvious, practical oriented, end product coming from them. The sending organization will widen its partnerships, will develop its European dimension being more visible in the regional educational landscape.
