Designing the Competence Profile of the European Supported Employment Specialist
Date du début: 1 janv. 2013,

The Supported Employment Specialist (SES) helps people with disabilities to enter training, the labour market and stay employed. He/she assesses skills and residual work capability, helps the person to select a training course or a job coherent with skills, aspirations and residual work capability, finds and contacts firms and organizations suitable for job placements, arrange for vocational training, helps to overcome possible difficulties when in training or job. The SES is crucial for assuring employment to disabled people, because it liaise between firms on one side and training organizations and private and public employment services on the other one. As it is well known the European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) has been created by the European Commission to give people greater control over their individual learning experiences and make it more attractive to move between different countries and different learning environments. The system aims to facilitate the validation, recognition and accumulation of work-related skills and knowledge acquired during a stay in another country or in different settings. The project is submitted by 6 organizations assisting people with disabilities in entering in training and in jobs. They want promote the use, test and implement ECVET by applying it to the qualification of the SES. The six organization work in different countries and in diverse settings; ECVET will be the common term of reference (a common language) to describe what they do and standardize their training and assessment methodologies addressed to the SES. The project will define the competence profile of the SES according to ECVET guidelines; the blueprint of a training course and a framework for accreditation will be described and tested. Thanks to a thorough valorization plan 30,000 members of target groups will be informed about the project and about 600 will be directly involved in it.
