The project deSIGN is based on the need to ensure foreign practical experience abroad for our students. Students of the creative study field Architecture and Interior Design can´t build their careers without a continuous supply of new ideas, examples, inspiration and new work procedures. The project aims to ensure them real work experience in the field of Scandinavian design. At the same time the project should develop students´ language skills and interpersonal competences. This describes the main the objectives of the project deSIGN. In addition to interior design and practical use of materials (including natural and non-traditional ones like bark, fur, grass, etc.) pupils will try work in a foreign working environment and work under a foreign leader (with a different work culture, with the need to speak in English and to understand the mentality and all the assigned tasks . The partner in our project is the Finnish educational organization Jyväskylä Educational Consortium (listed in the application under the PIC-code in the national language). The target groups are students of the third and fourth grade. The major of participants are under-aged. In total, the project is prepared for 16 students divided in two groups, each of 8 students. Each group will travel to Finland with an accompanying person, precisely because of under-aged participants. Dates of the above mentioned two runs of the project: October 2014 and April 2015. The main results are going to be internships for 16 students for 15 days in Finland. This time period will contain 10 working days. Each group will travel to the Finland on Saturday and will go back to the Czech Republic again on Saturday. Housing will be provided on campus or at Omena hotel. The project has impact not only to students, but to the whole region. It motivates applicants to study at VET schools. In Liberec, the project also motivates pupils to study in arty study fields, which combine craftsmanship and art work. In addition, the project increases the reputation of the Czech Republic. Our project deSIGN will cause an increase in the number of European VET students´ mobility. Execution of the project deSIGN is planned for the time period 1. 9. 2014 to 31. 8. 2015.
