Design and setting-up of a museum network: RMG project

The creation of a Museum Network in the province of Gorizia requires some specific projects envisaging communication and promotion activities for the reference public actors (schools and universities, local visitors and tourists, institutional counterparts, scientific communities). In particular, the project envisages the creation of a museum system logo, to identify all the activities carried out in the framework of cross-border cooperation, and the publication of an annual report about the activities performed, as a first mutual accountability instrument available to museum organizations and the main stakeholders. A web portal is going to be created, for every museum organization to learn about its visitors and their requirements, in order to ensure an efficient coordination, to promote activities and to manage relationships with visitors, especially as far as visitors’ reception services are concerned. A single electronic ticket providing for integrated services will be issued; it is an important communication and promotion instrument, which aims at ensuring the visitors’ fidelization and improving tourists’ participation. It contributes to the idea of a museum system, offering a single and consistent image of the whole project. The main objective of this initiative is ensuring an organizational form that can enhance the services provided by the museums and combining their resources and attractive capacity, thus integrating the museum services offered in the area through common promotion and enhancement activities. The “RMG” initiative is conceived as a starting point for a more organized and flexible museum system, which can evolve and develop over time.
