Des Cévennes à l'Europe
Date du début: 3 juin 2014, Date de fin: 2 juin 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In conformity with titles 2 and 3 of the Academic plan (2013-2016) and with the Ministerial directive on school reorganisation, the secondary school of Bessèges offers to implement a project of a new concept of teaching, which develops English practice using Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Taking advantage of the program Erasmus+, the roadmap is to establish collaborative pedagogical situations and to develop a real partnership between our school and others schools in Europe. The initial phase of this project has already begun. During this year (2013-2014), two pedagogical exchanges and cooperation have occurred with the Bredon Hill secondary school of Evesham (UK), with the high school of Bechyne (Republic Czech) and with the secondary school of Ramstad (Norway). Using eTwinning, this collaboration has established a first contact between schools based on real courses. The second phase will take place during the year 2014-2015. The high goal is to start a European mobility in order to develop technical, linguistic and intercultural skills, as comparing different Education systems. A final report will be issued to prepare the third phase of this project. During the final phase (2015-2016), our school will inaugurate a “section européenne”, which should have an extremely positive impact on the quality of learning and learning environments on our school, as well as on the other primary and secondary schools in our district. At the same time, our school will aim to further strengthen European cooperation. We will promote a new exchange plan based on an immersion program for the pupils. We will give to the students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the European culture, to enhance and develop their English language skills and to experience some of the local culture as hosts to visiting schools in Evesham (UK), Bechyne (Republic Czech) and Ramstad (Norway). As part of this annual exchange, our school in Bessèges will obviously host students coming from these schools. Understanding the impact of social, economic and geographic disadvantage on the education in Bessèges, its secondary school needs more than ever before the achievement of this ambitious project. It will encourage our students to be French active citizen and to foster a sense of ownership for how the European Union develops.
