Deployment of a telemedicine system between the university centres for gastroenterology in Szeged and Timisoara is the primary objective of training health care professionals. The secondary aim of this telemedicine system is to provide professional consultation for complicated medical cases. The future purpose of the project is to develop a cross-border consultation system for the health-care professionals and for the benefit of the patients. The deployed telemedicine systems are not restricted to the two institutions but enable the parties to set up videoconference sessions with leading professional institutes and to connect to other telemedicine system.The main activities of are:• Preparation for deployment of videoconference system and the preparation of the conference rooms where the systems will be installed• Videoconference system installation and launching the system with a starting the sessions, with the participation of the local press.• Tele-teaching sessions and consultations, ad hoc consultations• Continuous collection of teaching material for storage in videotorium• Project opening ceremony with the participation of the media, Joint starting of the videoconference system with the participation of the media, Conference on the experiences gained during the tele-teaching and consultation sessions via telemedicine system and briefing for the media, Project closing ceremony with the participation of the mediaThe target group consists of 15 medical doctors, 6 assistants, and information technologists. A further targeted group is a population of about 1 million people belonging to the health-care providing area of the two parties who are undoubtedly beneficiaries of a higher level medical care.Among the project results: 2 videoconference system established between the two academic centres, 12 videoconference training sessions, 2 conferences.
