"Deeper Europe, Wider Reach" - Translation of eight books from less frequent literary scenes and audience development project

The project “Deeper Europe, wider reach” brings the readership in FYR Macedonia eight of the most prestigious European authors. So, three of the authors, Tiit Aleksejev, Immanuel Mifsud and Viktor Horvath have won the EU prize for Literature. Others have received prestigious national awards, or regional awards, or are regarded as the most influential writers not only in their country but also abroad. Terezia Mora has received the top German awards, although from Hungarian origin: Leipzig book fair award, German Prize, Ingeborg Bachman award, Chamisso award etc. Milorad Popovic has won the prestigious “Mesa Selimovic” award. Asli Erdogan is considered one of the top 50 authors and intellectuals of the 21st Century. Muharem Bazdulj and Arian Leka are one of the best authors from their countries, constantly present in the “Best European fiction” selection for some of the years. The project is designed to increase the circulation of European literature by avoiding the conventional and well-known European spaces and territories, and by offering authors from the “deeper and wider European space”. To maximize the effect of promotion promotional activities for all the authors are planned, including the effect of decentralization. It means that the authors would be promoted not only in the capital city but throughout the country, on book fairs and literary festivals. The promotion techniques and marketing tools are combined to create both massive spread of information but also to increase the audiences and the readership. There are tools to create deeper interaction with the audiences and to support the deepening of their reading culture. The books would be made easily accessible by online ordering and by improved distribution. Besides that, we have planned campaigns to reach the audience behind the traditional selling points. The online marketing is planned to cover all the spots of the language speaking area, in our country but also the vast migrant community.
