Deconstructing Migration in the Mediterranean
Date du début: 22 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 21 sept. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project “Deconstructing Migration in the Mediterranean” (DeMi-MED) is a transnational initiative for young people that will focus on the complex issue of migration. The participants will come from four different countries: Italy, Turkey, Egypt and Greece. The program will involve 29 young people aged 18-25. Greece is the host country, while EKO will organize and coordinate the project. The 29 participants will spend one week together in Athens. During this week, the participants will engage in a social dialogue regarding the social inclusion of immigrants and the problems they face within their countries of origin. The project will bring together young people with ties to their local communities and with a proven high sense of social responsibility, so as to maximize its effects while the participants return to their countries. Thus, the opportunity to discuss, confronting different aspects of the problem, and to exchange personal experiences will be provided, while different techniques will be used to enrich the exchange of information and to enhance the intercultural dialogue. The meeting will take place in Athens during the second week of November 2016.
