Many teachers work with the Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) children in the mainstream schools. The idea of this project is to help teachers gain a better understanding of such children and their educational and developmental needs on the European level. Through TwinSpace teachers and SEND children can cooperate and collaborate creating a healthier atmosphere in their classrooms. Detska gradina Arabella has experience in the occupation with European educational programs and interests in enlargement of European collaboration as well, with the aim to exchange innovative pedagogical practices in increasing the quality and effectiveness of children's education and upbringing in the Kindergarten. Special attention is taken to incorporation of children with special educational needs. In this meaning this project is a natural prolongation in execution of the strategic aims of the educational institution. Aims: - To develop teachers? skills and knowledge working with the special education need children. - To explore and share the best practices working with special education need children. - To provide an opportunity for special education need children to engage in collaborative activities developing their speaking, listening, reading, writing and ICT skills. - To increase the linguistic, ICT and professional competences of the teachers by mens of exchange of European pedagogical practices. In the project as a Sending institution Detska gradina Arabella will take part and as a Receiving institution will be "Rokutis" School, Kaunas, Lithuania. Participants will familiarize there with ICT implication in the education and upbringing of children with special educational needs with the assistance of a Mentor. New pedagogical methods and instruments will be actively sought, observed, investigated and tested. Participants will present our new knowledges on mobility Diary and a Power Point presentation to the teaching staff and the entire school community. We will share our new experience in the European educational portal eTwinning. Participants will make and apply Europass language passport and Europass CV in our professional portfolio. They will use the acquired skills to produce an electronic catalogue of software products for work with children with special educational needs. The entire communication over the project will be performed by the Internet with the assistance of ICT. Their intercourse with colleagues from other European countries and the exchange of innovative practices will make their work with these children and their relatives more effective and productive. The experience gained by the participants in the Project will be multiplied and will bring about the execution of the strategic aims, set in our European plan for development. Our goal is our work to help our children gain practical skills which will help them live an independent life in the future. Expected results: Products: - outdoor classroom for special education need children; - collaboratively created resources for teaching with special education need children; - bank of ideas and methods to be used with special education need children; Experience: - a better understanding for teachers of special education need children and possibilities of their inclusion in the classroom activities; - improved basic skills for special education need children through international partnership;
