"Comarca de la Jacetania" is a territorial local authority, with own legal personality, which has capacity and autonomy to fulfill its purposes, and own competence. It conprises of 20 municipalities: 16 in the province of Huesca and 4 in Zaragoza. It streches along 1.857'90 km2 and has approximately 18,421 inhabitants.WHY DO WE WANT TO CARRY OUT THE PROJECT YOUTH EXCHANGE IN THE REGION OF THE JACETANIA?The Department of Children and Youth considered very important to work from an interdisciplinary perspective and provide this area under all possible resources to develop their skills and competencies. This time, we have the work of a European volunteer, from Paris. After few months observing and working in this area, has proposed that it would be very interesting to make an exchange with young people in their city to meet rural environment, and a different Spain to break with "stereotypes" of "Spain and party". Also for young people of this area, meet other people of same age, with differents experiences and cultures, can be very rewarding.Also, having a European volunteer, heading this project, contribute to the exchange as well as his own learning process in their European voluntary service.GENERAL THEME OF PROJECT: Intercultural work for people from the urban and rural areas.OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:. Break prejudices about different ways of living depending place where people live.. Take distance and have a more critical thinking about their own culture.. Create a youth network and stimulate rural and urban areas with a European dimension.PROFILE OF YOUNG PEOPLE:. Aged 15 to 18 years interested / -as an experience of active citizenship and no-formal education in rural areas. Young people who commit to welcome in his country young Spanish.. Number of participants: 10 young people from each country.DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES:. Discover rural places and their history: visits of different places, explained by own youth from rural area.. Active participation in intercultural activities where young people are actors of their own learning. (Examples: joint preparation of intercultural evening, joint preparation of a final product support or on their experience and learning.). Meet different nationalities and share their experiences: through constant coexistence during these days, as they will be 24 hours together.Our methodology is normally a participatory methodology provided from no-formal education.On the other hand, we believe that from the Department of Children and Youth work with a wide range of people, both directly, and indirectly. For this reason, the potential impact of the proposed youth exchange can reach all these people and impact on the area where we live.Participants will be in direct contact on many occasions with rural youth, with other professionals working in the field of no-formal education, with people of different nationalities and associations in the area.And so, this stay will activate the ability to take responsibility for the preparation of a project from beginning to end, to think differently learning to respect and openness to others, and give a motivation to define their life project.Likewise, we establish personal networks that can be maintained over time, both among the participants of exchange as at the technical level between the two associations.
