de Hoge Rielen
Date du début: 1 janv. 2016, Date de fin: 31 janv. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

De Hoge Rielen is located in the municipality of Kasterlee, in the province of Antwerp The municipality is at about 85 km (1 hour on the train) from Brussels (the capital of Belgium). Kasterlee is situated in Flandres, the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. The main objective of de Hoge Rielen is offering quality lodging (buildings and camping grounds) for groups and individuals, in priority to youth groups. This allows groups to accomplish their operation and activities. All our main activities are in line with the character of the groups that reside on the domain: providing good maintenance of the lodges, giving people a warm welcome, preparing meals with attention for ecological principles, creating an active and educational qualitative programme outdoors. The focus in our programme is youth leisure and education through sport and outdoors activities: encourage independence, offer opportunities to discover and create unique experiences, reinforce group feeling, learn new skills,… . Learning by experience is on of our principles. Youth is our priortiy target. So, it’s important that the domain is tailored on the needs and expectations of young people. Participation of young people plays a main role in our organisation.De Hoge Rielen is both a receiving (host) organisation as a coordinating organisation. We wish to receive 2 EVS volunteers. The duration of the voluntary service is 9 months, more specially from 1/3/2016 - 30/11/2016. We find a right match between the qualities/the skills of the volunteer and the volunteers’ profile important. There are a lot of varied tasks that the volunteer can do in the organisation. Informal learning and learning by work experience are the basic. We’ll provide a good introducing programme and a permanent evaluation throughout the learning process of the volunteer. There are two sending organisations involved in this project. Piaskowy Smok is an organisation based in Katowice, Poland. The current scope of the foundation's activities covers cultural, environmental and social projects, including the prevention of discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, gender and sexual orientation. Associazione Culturale Eufemia is an organisation based in Turin, Italy. Eufemia is an association for social promotion in the cultural field, promoted by a group of young people committed to supporting the process of European integration. Both organisations have an extensive experience in several EU Programmes, especially in the field of Youth. They each send one volunteer. We want that the volunteer can personally and socially develop, can expand intercultural and communication skills (by learning by learning/non-formal learning) , can get a deeper vision about their culture, their values and norms regarding in an European perspective. They will increase a positive awareness of the other cultures. We strive that the target groups will know EVS and the other opportunities to do a foreign experiences. It gives young people the chance to think about their future in an European context. We want also these young people will develop sense of tolerance and understanding of diversity. This project will be a broadening of cultural diversity within our organisation. The cooperation (and the exchange) in the volunteer operation will be stronger. We will expand our network in the region and in Europe. By cooperation we will learn a lot of each other (the EVS-volunteers, the other partners): a new vision on youth work, new methods applied, new ideas,… We strive for a cooperation to develop activities in our educative programme. We would like to share our expertise with organizations abroad. In the long term we ‘ll see it possible to make our accommodation available for EVS training: organisations can give trainings about intercultural learning and workshops about European citizenship; dHR can do the organisation of a provincial 'EVS mentorday' in cooperation with the national agency, ... .
