The DDAY 70 objective is to create a joint commemoration programme of the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Achievements: The D-Day beaches, where the 70th anniversary of the allied landings willbe celebrated. The DDAY 70 project will organise several events from June to September 2014: a concert performed by a Franco-British orchestra in Lower Normandy, debate evenings in emblematic sites on both sides of the Channel, a musical work played jointly by the Orchestre Régional de Basse-Normandie and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with a Franco-English choir of schoolchildren, and an exhibition of two twin frescos created by artists from the two countries at the Caen Memorial and D-Day Museum in Portsmouth.
