Danube - Let if flow! Project is part of AEGEE Europe flagship project for 2008/2009 "Sustaining our Future", aiming to raise knowledge and involvement of European youth and their communities in the topic of sustainable development. Danube - Let it Flow Project aims to raise awareness on the interdependence of the Danube river and the communities directly in contact wih it, by making youth workers more familiar to the unique characteristics of the Danube river and its ecosystems. It will also inform and educate the participants about the existing problems and develop creative solutions to reduce the negative impact on Danube's heritage, will familiarize them with the different representations of the river in arts and literature and promote sustainability by using creative tools such as environmentally friendly art etc.Danube - Let it flow! Project will include two 1-week seminars:1. Danube-source of inspiration - seminar in Danube Delta (Romania) in August 15-21 , 20092. Danube- most international river in the world - seminar in Bratislava in September 7-13, 2009In seminars there will be 27-29 participants active in the field of youth work in Europe from following countries: Romania, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic,France, Italy, Spain, Malta, Greece, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Netherlands, Poland and Turkey (mostly 2 participants per country). In these events, through various non-formal education tools such ice-breaking games, discussions and site visits, we will promote intercultural dialogue, social interaction and active citizenship by creating groups of discussions on sustainable development issues and by giving examples of good practices.The project will foster creativity and innovation by using group work and brainstorming sessions on how to make our life more sustainable and also on finding creative solutions for the sustainabilf Danube ecosystems and by creating environmentally friendly art using recycled materials.The project results will be mainly presented in the form of photo exhibition and results' booklet.
