Dance Around Europe
Date du début: 17 juin 2014, Date de fin: 16 déc. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our project’s activity days will be taken place with seven participants and one group leader from each country which are Italy, Hungary and Turkey in Nizip,Turkey between 18th August of 2014 and 26th August of 2014. Our Project “Dance Around Europe” aims to draw attention to issues of social inclusion of doubly-disadvantaged individuals and intends to help to raise awareness. For this reason, the theme of our project is to gain these doubly-disadvantaged individuals to society with the help of folk dance which is a social tool. Our project’s objectives and priorities will be considered currently because majority of young people in the Hungarian groups will have their first overseas experiences. Having doubly-disadvantaged participants in our project, we think that project’s theme reflects our participants’s interests and abilities. Folklore, which is under constant development, is a common value describing each society itself. Folklore is transferred from one generation to the other in various ways, and music and dance are the ways which are used most frequently for this transferring. For this reason, our project will provide an experience to each participant about another cultures through the introduction of those different cultures’ folklore and will broke the potential biases by increasing awareness. Every each folk dance is not an independent object, in contrast; they are continuously interacting with each other and they are open to all external influences. Based on this idea, we aim to reveal that folk dances which are seen different from each other actually have so many common points. In addition to this, we think that our participants will realize that we live in the same world and in the same geography with similar lifes. Young people who will have opportunity to discuss Turkey's role in Europe and Europe's problems, are able to notice their responsibilities as individuals and their identity as a European citizen. Therefore, our project will be organized in an environment where young people can develop their awareness and themselves, interact with young people from different cultures. However, non-formal training methods such as warm-up activities, team-building, role-play will be used during our project and with the help of these methods, our participants will be highly active in every part of facilities. And, our projects’ major and minor tasks will be given to participants by considering their interests and abilities so it will provide an effective participation of each volunteer during the project.
