Turkey has a great potential for tourism with natural and cultural riches. Owned by high mountains,city is suitable for mountain tourism and winter sports. Our city has big neighboring cities such as Ankara, Adana, Kayseri and Nevşehir. Aladağlar and Bolkar Mountains are part of the Taurus Mountains in which Niğde provience limits. The Mountain has a height of 3756m, so that summer and winter mountaineering, mountain climbing, hiking, camping and skiing activities are very important. In our province, some private and public institutions promoting such healthy life activities in recent years. For these activities, according to Niğde Directorate of Culture’s records 2,442 domestic and foreing tourists visited Aladağlar and Bolkar Mountains. Due to our province’s geographic structure, climatic conditions and natural beauty, transhumance tourism is also common.Every year about 6,000 people visit our city for transhumance tourism. As the increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists for winter and mountain sports in our city, mountain disappearances, injuries, falls from height and hypothermia causes also increase. In addition, our province's geographical and geological structure of the induced landslides, avalanches of injury that causes loss of life and the formation of irreversible disability. According to the data of Nigde Diretorate of Disaster and Emergency (AFAD) collaborators National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), 172 cases occurred in our province in the last 5 years. In the scope of emergency medical services in European Countries, to examine the case for intervention methods such as summer and winter climbing - search and rescue, basic camping, orienteering terrain, increase coordination, fall from height, rescue the person injured in mountain and hypothermia cases, to use the duties, responsibilities, information and communication techniques to increase the professional capacity, to compare the methods we use for these cases, to reduce the death and disabilities by using new and improved methods, to improve our foreign language and provide better health services for foreing tourist in our provience, to create awareness for other personnel serving in the health field in our provience obtained knowledge, skills and experience are among our most important goals. 10 staff will join our “UMKE on the top of mountains” project; 1 project coordinator, 7 trainers and 2 Project Specialist from the department of Project Management. The activities of our project: 1- Preparation Activities: The selection of staff will participate in activity, to have contract with selected staff, project cycle training, Spain's socio-cultural promotion and mobility project briefings, social security procedures of the participants, official writings from the Governor's Office for permissions, visa and passport procedures, getting bus and flight tickets, training in foreign langues, to fulfill the technical equipments. 2- Implementation Activities: Includes trip, security, accommodation,guidings, health services procedures, trainings, culture and trip procedures. Training activities constitute a large part of the mobility activities. Professional technical equipments and workflow will be seen in place. culture and sightseeing activities will be carried out after the course hours. 3- Dissemination Activities: Includes assessment meetings with participants, preparing the posters brochures and information notes and press releases. As a consequence of knowledge, know-how, responsibility and experience that will be gained in the EU countries, we intend to improve our work-performance in our city by utilising various methods learnt; and therefore we will be able to: - decrease the ratio of disability, laceration and death following an injury, - improve the English language skills of our staff members and provide better health assistance to foreign visitors, - contribute to general welfare of our local and global society by actively collaborating with aid organisations, - create a sense of awareness among our institution, - increase the number of volunteers, - and have the opportunity to get introduced with different cultures.
