D.E.A.F (Development,Employability,Accesibility,Future) 4 DEAF
Date du début: 1 nov. 2015, Date de fin: 31 mars 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The D.E.A.F (Development, Employability, Accessibility, Future) 4 Deaf Capacity Building Project aims to introduce an innovative way of social and professional inclusion of deaf/hard hearing youth. It will consist of four main activities, namely a meeting, a Short-term European Voluntary Service, a Mobility for youth workers in the form of job shadowing activity and a final conference. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that all activities will include mixed groups of both hearing and non-hearing youngsters and youth workers. From this transaction, we expect to experiment with existing tools of non-formal education and form completely new ones that are specialized for mixed groups of hearing/non-hearing. We are also motivated to learn more about the policies concerning deaf youth in Europe and in Asia, in order to compare them and exchange ideas for their improvement. In addition this project aims to introduce deaf and hearing youth to the field of social entrepreneurship, a field that is inherently linked with the completion of social goals. In this way, participants and social enterprises can find out the competences of each other and the possibilities for future employment. As a result the employability of deaf youth is increased and entrepreneurs are motivated to include more of them in their activities. In order to complete the above goals, we have formed a partnership between Alter Ego (Greece) that is the applicant and coordinator of the actions since it is very experienced in the field of youth Erasmus+ projects and has also some experience with deaf youth, Associacio Alba (Spain) and Shruti (Nepal) that are both very experienced in working with deaf youth as they are explicitly targeting this youth group and finally Centrul de Voluntariat Cluj Napoca that is very active in its local community and has experience in forming links and partnerships with local entrepreneurial and institutional actors. This partnership ensures that there will not be overlap of skills, instead the organizations will complement each other and bring their needed expertise in order to successfully complete this project. The project will be constantly documented with reports and digital material. These will be used to write a report in the end of the project and produce a guide and a website with tools of non-formal education for mixed groups, good practices, an assessment of EU and non-EU deaf policies and entrepreneurial opportunities. The organizations will continue their partnership and their common actions after the end of the project. Lastly they will promote their results and increase their network with more organizations and institutions.
