Youth Exchange "CYPER- participation in forest and fields" were in Lapua, Finland 28.7.-6.8.2015. Host organisation was Youth Council of Lapua and sending organisation Asociacion Juvenil FILIA from Spain. In application we wrote: "We have noticed that youngsters spend too much time with their smart phones and computers using social media, playing video games, etc. Instead they could be more active in their own society and interact with other people in real life. We would like to remind that there is also great nature what we can use in so many different ways. In this Youth Exchange we wanted to learn more about ourselves and our relationship to nature, concretely while we are at Hirvijärvi camp site. Sleeping in tent nowadays isn't so common anymore. When we are really close to nature it brings up concretely everyday coping skills. We like to highlight creativity by moving in nature and doing different activities there. We wanted to divide the program into two different places, nature and city setting, this way we can do things in different ways in different environments and that way we can learn many things from each other. " Because of the tecnical problem in camp place we could not be there only 2 days and one night. We had to change the programme. But we were able to be also in the nature those 2 days and in our Visit to Vaasa. For many participants this was first trip to abroad. Two different cultures meeting up and learning to communicate with each other in english was a big step for many youngsters. We wanted to carry on the participation theme what we started in Spain. Same groups participated in youth exchange in Spain before we arranged our own exchange. We accomodated in Spain in families during the exchange. In our exchange we were supposed to live in tents and in student accomodation. Finally it was more in studen house. We think that this YE, first in Spain then in Finland, we have got versatile experiences in YE in it's different forms. In Spain the name of YE was "HYPER- How Youth Participate in European Realities" In Spain the activities were f.ex. Ways to participation, Ecology, Europe and Politics. (The Spanish group also apply in same round.) Things what we deal with during YE in Finland were, our attitude towards nature, creativity in nature, diversity of nature, cultural differences. By this youth exchande we liked to bring visibility to our YE, Erasmus+ projects and to our work as Youth Council. Our Youth Council has done volunteering work in retirement house annually. Now we wanted to do it with our foreign friends. Also we wanted to learn what is volunteering with different ages that´s why we visit also in kindergartens. We haven't done this long YE before, meaning two in the same year with same group. It was interesting to see how prejudices go away and how the groups bonded together.
