Cycle path construction between Berettyóújfalu and Oradea (BEORKER)

The general objective of the project is to increase the settlement’s competitiveness by improving people’s health quality and decreasing the environmental pollution caused by motorization. The specific objectives are: to build a continuous cycle path, to develop the cyclist infrastructure, to improve transportation security and to strength the cross-border relationships.The main activities of this project are: implementation of the infrastructural investment (building and tool procurement). The direct target groups of the project are: the resident population of the settlements Berettyóújfalu, Mezőpeterd, Biharkeresztes, Ártánd, Bors and Oradea; the population of Bojt and Bedő, which are located near the proposed cycle path, but also the people living in the Zona Metropolitana Oradea. The number of involved inhabitants: approximately 240 000.
