Culture – Freedom – Native Country – An International Youth Theatre Project

The multilateral youth exchange „Culture – Freedom – Native Country – An International Youth Theatre Project“ will take place from July 29th until August 12th 2012 in Stumm (Tirol). 42 young people between 18 and 23 years old from Austria, Armenia, Israel, Lithuania, Slovenia, Spain and Romania will cooperate to develop a play. The main topics of the play will be the meaning of people’s cultural background and their affiliation to their native country, freedom on the individual, political and social level and democracy and its limits. Planned activities and methods of non-formal learning will include: reflecting and debating social and cultural differences, working together with experts on the mentioned topics, sharing experiences within the group, transfer of the findings of these debates into scenic-theatrical language and classic and free methods of improvisation. The aim is to offer and artistic platform, where through the medium of acting creativity can be shown and intercultural dialogue takes place.
