This project is composed of two activities: an Advanced Planning Visit (APV) between 4-6/11/2016 and a Youth Exchange (YE) between 17-24/3/2017 that will happen in Fornos de Algodres with the participation of Portugal, Romania, Latvia, Poland, Italy and Estonia, preferably for the age group 18 to 35 years old (some will be young people with fewer opportunities) for the development of the local community. The organisation responsible for the coordination of the project is CDCFA.The participants will be involved in activities developed by the hosting organisation within the themes of creativity and culture, social dialogue, empowerment and lifelong learning. They will also be able to develop and implement their own project ideas in the fields of community work as well as intercultural learning and dialogue. The methods used throughout the project will be non-formal education methods focused on participatory and learner-centered, as well as creative and artistic approaches.Expected results include the improvement of quantity and quality of participating organisations' work for the development and well being of their local communities, with strong positive impact on all participants and beneficiaries.In this project participants will also have the opportunity to experience different cultures, to master many useful tools and competences in the field of youth work and participation, to learn about organisation of social and cultural events, to improvetheir skills in intercultural communication and learning some foreign languages. Therefore, young participants willbenefit from this mobility that provides them the opportunity to develop their social and professional skills/competences whichincrease the chances of finding better job opportunities and/or creating their own in the future.Importantly, this project will contribute for positive change of mentalities for conscious European awareness: youngsters and people from all ages and backgrounds from local communities will be more sensitive to European debated issues and also aware of policies regarding youth, all through peer-to-peer transmission of knowledge, in a non-formal way, through art, creativity and culture.
