BEST has a long history of organised cultural exchanges. Two local BEST groups within Europe share their cultures to create new friendships. This year BEST Leuven will be organising a cultural exchange with the local BEST group of Ljubljana. The event will not only be an opportunity to train each other’s communication skills but also an event in which we will share our culture with our colleagues. 16 students from Ljubljana will reside in the city of Leuven for one week. We will take them on a cultural journey through Bruges, Antwerp, Brussels and Leuven to give them the best cultural view of Belgium. We will provide a brewery tour, a visit to the chocolate museum, visits to cultural heritage like the beguinage of Leuven and the castle of Horst and traditional student activities. During this week we will also provide them with courses on communication, more specifically on communication skills, long distance communication, non violent communication and presentation skills. They will be given by specialised trainers of BEST and will take place in the facilities of the KULeuven university. These trainings are essential to facilitate the long distance communication within BEST and give us the opportunity to present ourselves more professionally. It is a week of creating friendship, mutual understanding and to celebrate our European spirit!
