Cultural Democracy in Giants and Dragons Land
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 1 nov. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our project is a youth exchange that will gather 4 groups of 5 participants, including some with disabilities, from Belgium, Greece, Macedonia and Spain. This diverse group will (re)discover how art and culture can be appreciated and expressed with our different senses (view, touch, hearing…). The young people will approach the notion of culture, via the folklores from their origin countries (as legendary creatures…) and from the city of Mons, famous for its tradition and where they will stay during several days. With the support of artistic leaders, they will create and animate sculptures by using different kinds of artistic technics (sculpture, drawing, theater and songs…). . The project itself will benefit from a very enthusiastic and theme related context: all the participants will meet in Marche-en-Famenne, in South Belgium, where is based CBB and where the Belgian group performed its preparatory activities; but, after few days, they will move to the city of Mons which is a European Capital of Culture in 2015. It means that lots of projects and initiatives regarding culture will be running there. Especially, several youth groups will be present, in the frame of the youth festival organisation by La COJ, a federation of 35 Belgian youth organisations. Due to the composition of the group and the theme of the project, our youth exchange is in line with general framework in the field of youth, designed to support the participation and inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. It will participate to the improvement of key competences by its participants, including those with fewer opportunities.
