Cultural Creative Lab is a project based on artistic and managerial experience to renew the identity and style of the cultural center Rina Durante in Melendugno (Lecce county, Italy) . The idea comes from the observation and planning of some key actions to be developed together with volunteers to give a more youthful look to the structure and to raise new services and activities: organization and management of the library; database for makers and young creative people, eco-design and graphics workshops, design and garden care for performances and outdoor games. We want to give volunteers the opportunity to develop their creativity so that it can become technical expertise to search for a job and, at the same time, contribute to the discussion of youth issues at European level. Cultural Creative Lab EVS project involves 4 sending partner from: Estonia, Hungary, Portugal, Lithuania (2 females/2 males) Activity dates: from 1st November 2014 to 31st October 2015 Main working place: Rina Durante cultural centre - Melendugno (LE) - ITALY CULTURAL LAB This lab concerns closely the cultural field , in terms cultural center management and its related services, such as the library and its activities, the info-point for tourist information and opportunities for young people, cultural events for young people and citizens. CREATIVE LAB This lab concerns closely the arts and manufacturing field, in terms of designing and decorate the spaces of the cultural centre and promoting www.laboratoriurbanikoine.it website, as a new tool for young artists and creative people who can upload their own artifacts and sell them to potential customers. You can apply for Cultural LAB if are interested in library and cultural management, supporting and organizing activities to promote books and enlarge the public of the library. You can apply for Creative LAB if you are interested in gardening, eco-design, interior design and manufacturing artistic goods and you want to make new and colorful the centre. The impact in a small community like Melendugno is quite tangible and the support offered by the volunteers themselves is a strategic tool for inclusion and social integration. Together with them we want to give back to the community a meeting place to read a book, play guitar or have a barbecue with friends in the garden.
