PROJET
TERMINÉ
Since 2008 one of the strong points, which is also a strategic project of the school, is it openness to internationalization through the participation in European projects (school exchanges, Erasmus +, online collaborative projects, multilingual project, English assistant ...). The aim of this project is to meet a growing interest and demand from our students and their families for these linguistic and cultural experiences. These projects were initially encompassed in the school project "Crossing Cultures" and from 2014 in the project "Towards Multilingualism", which shares the same spirit. The other two strategic projects of the school are the ICT project and the project Agenda 21.With the experience gained during these years, the main objectives pursued with this new initiative are:• Consolidate the European dimension by establishing and strengthening links with European schools to gain and share experience.• Develop management skills to optimize school management.• Improve teachers' and students' language skills..• Develop resources to increase student motivation through an innovative methodology and the use of new technologies. Our goal for the next two years (2016-2018) is that seven school teachers participate in a new project that includes:• The participation of 3 teachers in professional development courses abroad with the aim of improving language proficiency in English, to increase the European dimension of the school through the establishment of ties with European colleagues and learning tools to improve methodology and students' motivation in their areas and / or areas taught in English (CLIL methodology). Possible courses: Using Technology in Teaching, The Creative Classroom: Tools and Tips for Language Teachers, CLIL for Secondary Teachers- Humanities / Science and Maths, Programmes for International Teachers, Immersion Courses in France for Secondary teachers.• The participation of 4 teachers in two job shadowing experiences in two European high schools (the Swedish school "Allvar Gullstrandgymnasiet" and the Italian school "IP Servizi Commerciali Cavalieri") to observe first hand how they deal with the areas we want to improve: school management (quality improvement, school projects ...), student motivation, the use of new technologies to improve management and students’ motivation, students’ language improvement and strengthen the European dimension. The profile of the 7 participants includes the members of the management team, the teachers participating in the different activities of the project "Towards Multilingualism" (Multilingual Project, student exchange project, eTwinning projects ... ) or that can participate in such projects in the future, the members of the language departments (English, French ...) and teachers participating in the school projects (ICT project, Agenda 21, Towards Multilingualism ... ) .In addition to the European contacts established through the previous project, we have used the European platforms (eTwinning and School Education Gateway) to find partners for the job shadowing activities as well as the training courses.A protocol has been established for selecting the candidates. When selecting the candidates the committee will consider the following criteria: motivation and involvement in the different school projects, command of English, future prospect…Before starting the mobility the different parts involved (sending school, participants and host institutions) will sign the necessary agreements in order to adapt the content of the mobility (courses and observation periods ) to the needs of the participants. They will also reach agreements about the practical issues (management, preparation ...), how participants will disseminate what they have learned...It is expected that all the aspects mentioned previously, in addition to an improvement in foreign language competence, will lead to a more effective teaching in participants and their fellow teachers and will benefit the entire educational community: an improvement in teaching methodology, enhancement of pupil motivation and a more effective school management. These experiences will provide teachers with the opportunity to establish working relations with European institutions. After the mobility, the skills acquired by the participants will be spread in the high school and integrated into teachers’ teaching practices.
