PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project, that is part of a cross-border youth information service, wants to create a cross-border dynamic between Belgian and French youth. It talks to youth who, for geographical or socio-economic reasons, don’t have easily access to information and. Achievements: The 8 operators were partners in a project that developed over time and achieved the following:• for and with young people: information brochures, exhibitions, films, awareness games, educational kits, a cross-border volunteer network, etc.;• for youth information professionals: a documentary kit, meetings on common themes, job shadowing on both sides of the border, etc.Visits to the European Parliament were also organised for young people and professionals from the various regions to appreciate European citizenship at the heart of the institutions.Every region had its special highlights: young people exchange weeks supervised by French and Belgian instructors, artistic forums bringing together young creators (slam, rap, photography, video, street art, etc.). These meetings enabled young people to share and discover common interests across borders and cultures. In addition, the partners created a documentary production and common educational tools which were made available in the participating organisations of the project and on the regularly updated website (www.infojeunes.eu).Thanks to the project, 184 organisations on both sides of the border were made aware of the cross-border identity. They were made aware of cultural differences between young people in the border area and of the importance of adapting communication tools to the various target groups. The partners produced a wide range of documentation for both young people and professionals: a documentary kit, 13 cross-border files, 5 flyers (housing, jobs, certificate equivalence, driving licence,...), newsletters, 12 brochures (Jobs in Europe, Studying in Europe, 4 on artistic creation, 5 on health, etc.), communication tools (notebooks, pens, cotton bags, bookmarks, page markers, scarves, etc.) and an infojeunes.eu website. The educational material and games are sustainable tools which enable us – beyond the current project – to continue “talking about Europe”.
