The RCEH Project aims to improve the quality of life in the cross-border region and to improve the health status of the population through control of the componentsof the environment and their impact on public health. The specific objectives are: to create a cross-border system for monitoring and analysing the impact of environment on human health; to strengthen the regional research capacity; to build a network for cooperation between the Bulgarian and Greek authorities in the field of public health and social services; and to inform the public about health risks posed by environmental pollution. Expected Results: research centre environment and health for collection data and monitoring health established; laboratory in the centre; system for data exchange as an early warning system; strengthened the regional capacity to deal with health problems and environment protection.
