The origin of this project supports the implementation of the objectives of the European Youth Strategy and the Erasmus + programme and is as follows. · to provide more and equal opportunities for young people in education and in the job market · to encourage young people to actively participate in society including volunteering opportunities for young people and social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. The objective of this particular EVS project is to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union and East European countries, to enhance youth mobility in Ireland, Youth participation in Europe offering opportunities for development of skills and competence while volunteering in the host organisations dealing with children and youth with fewer opportunities in the host countries. The volunteers will be engaged in 3 different projects which are described below in more detail but will involve: working with children and organic farming. The project is a result of three young people doing short term EVS in Macedonia and Moldova and their awareness of new opportunities for their education and life being switched on. They have become changed persons as a result of the short term EVS experience and they want to carry on this learning. They are already acting as recruiting agents for the peers and spreading the news about EVS opportunities. Their self esteem and confidence have being increased and they are thinking about their future in terms of work and development. The longer term benefits are more fully rounded citizens of Europe and being able to fully participate in society.
