CREATING NETWORKS IN MARACENA was developed for two years in the town of Macarena (Granada-Andalusia-Spain). During all this time of our project we received volunteers from Germany who were with us during six months, helping to promote all the development of our town through different activities related to the information, entrertainment and youth training. However originally we wanted volunteers from the Czech Republic as well, but our Czech partner could not find possible volunteers finally and, hence, all the three volunteers who participated in the project „Creating Netwroks in Maracena” were sent by the German organization Jugendwerk der AWO Wuerttemberg e.V.. During these six months our volunteers helped us to support our activites related to non-formal education, such as the leisure and free time activities, indoor and outdoor, promotion of healthy lifestyle, life dynamics of participatory democracy, processes of cultural exchange and mutual understanding. These volunteers developed the activities at the different entities of our town, but mostly at the Youth Space of Maracena. Due to our project, with the help of the volunteers we motivated the youth of Maracena and the town nearby to reflect on the importance of European programs and Europe in their lives. Another benefit was to achieve that the presence of these volunteers, Sebastian, Jasmine and Ronja, motivated our young people to take part in the activities of our town; to be more entrepeneur, to be more conscious toward their possibilities and as youth they have an important role to create a new and better future by participating in the activities with our local volunteers such as (linguistic exchanges, activities that promote the different possibilities of all the activities, sport activities, youth mobility, European awareness, etc.) making a multiplier effect conducive to all our young people and in short, the whole of our town. The plan of activities planned in the project had been developed by the team of responsible professionals of Maracena for EVS together with youth organizations collaborating in the project, and with the collaboration of German and Czech entities, based on our experiences and analyzing needs, strengths and weaknesses. However, these plans had been partly changed due to the needs of the three volunteers and of the involved entities. To summarize the activities we include the following: Volunteering at the Youth Space of Maracena in the different aspects: - Promoting information for young people through different informative campains and participating in the advertising of different activities of the Youth Space with other young people of the town. - Dinamazation of social networks. - Collaboration with the Eurodesk Network, disseminating international information of the town. - International project support. - Linguistic exchange with the youth of the town. - Participation and revitalization in cultural, sport and environmental activities organized by the Youth Space of Maracena. - Support and colaboration with other associations and public agencies. Thanks for this experience we can declare that Ronja, Sebastian and Jasmine had lived a huge educational experience with full of emotions, where they discovered a new country and a new city that welcomed and will welcome them with open arms, where they also had the opportunity to get fully integrated into the local culture and got know in first hand how this culture unfolds and lives. Moreover they could also contribute in the own development of the town. Apart from all the baggage of new knowledge that the program that we had prepared for them, they served as a good example for young and old people of Maracena by motivating and encouraging them to experience and take part in the European mobility programs, such as European Voluntary Service or youth exchanges in the frames of Erasmus+.
