This EVS project is mainly aimed at providing and supporting non-formal education and intercultural learning opportunities to young people living in Kavadarci area in the former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. It is part of a current local project of the Receiving Organization Youth Association creACTive which mainly works on promoting creativity and active citizenship of young people. The EVS project will be based in the local youth club of the organization in Kavadarci, while part of the activities will be also developed in some villages near the city and the organic farm in creACTive ownership. Target group of this project are young people aged 13 to 25 from the town and the nearby villages, while the activities include various workshops in the fields of arts, culture, sport, language courses, use of computers, sports, theatre, media, games and others. The club is also open for youngsters’ free time activities during the whole day. The club employs four youth workers. The receiving organisation has hosted EVS volunteers before and interaction with local community has proved to be mutually benefial in terms of intercultural learning and European awareness. This project includes one long term volunteer (6 months) and 6 short term volunteers ( 2 months) from Finland to be hosted in the project in Macedonia. Project duration is 24 months, while the EVS service periods will last 2-6 months. The short term volunteers join the project in tandem where a young person will less opportunities will have peer support in addition to reinforced mentorship by the receiving organisation. The volunteers will shate their non-formal learning experiences throughout and after their stay through social media and website of the Sending organisation in order to gain visibility for the project and encourage other young people to become EVS volunteers.
