Our School is located in Palekastro, Sitia, on Crete island and our permanent target is to offer a more complete educational package to our pupils. Our goal is to improve the giving education involving our school in many differentactivities such as new methods in teaching by attending seminars, new spirit by following our science's new outcomes, by opening school to the local society , by european and national projects implementation, by immigrants' policy: by extra lessons in cooperation with the University Of Thessaly, by summer school(every summer) targeting immigrants and greek pupils living and learning together, by implementing ICT in every daily pedagogical activity.We attended the course: ''Innovative approaches to teaching'', in Prague!Four(4) teachers attended this course. All of those teachers needed these courses to improve their skills and to make our school more effective. This school staff is responsible for the improving of EU dimension of the school, selected according to their linguistic and its competences and their aim to develop their CV in a such direction.ObjectivesTrainees were shown new, innovative methodologies for teaching in different subjects, in cross-curricular projects and for solving real-world problems. They were given the opportunity to interact and generate new ideas for activities and to critically evaluate their results. Trainees worked within a group instructional setting. Guidance were given on current theoretical knowledge without being lecture orientated. Trainers were guided, observed, listened, evaluated and provided feedback for each module. Concepts were examined with regard to cross-curricular awareness. Activities suitable for special needs children were also presented, discussed and created. Time was allocated for discussion, feedback and sharing of ideas. Thus our trainees developed both teaching and language skills during the course.
