Project title: ICT for Collaborative, Project-Based , Teaching and Learning.This project is an ICT training course based in Malta, comprising of 35 contact hours spread over 7 days. The project recognizes that the ever in-creasing role of Information and Communication Technologies in Education is having a significant effect on the role of the teacher.This course outlines the issues involved in embracing technology and its potential for education and helps practitioners prepare to adapt to the new role as experts in the design of learning experiences.Along side the ICT training there is also a Cultural Programme, which aims to not only immerse the participant in Maltese history and culture but also build a community of shared strengths and practices. The main objectives of this project are to ensure that the participant is better equipped to:- Apply new pedagogies in the teaching and learning process- Make use of ICT in a practical manner providing added value- Collaborate with other teachers from Europe and encourage collaboration for learning among their students- Adapt to the 21st century environmentOur organisation will put forward one participant for this project. The participant currently teaches ICT across the Primary Key Stages but feels that she could benefit from further training due to the ever advancing role ICT has to play within education. The course consists a mixture of specialist lead workshops (including: Podcasting and Digital Video Editing, Introduction to Stop Motion Animation and creating interactive presentations, Digital Story-Telling, eTwinning, Creating educational websites and blogs, Creating interactive quizzes with Hot Potatoes and Introduction to code.org, Digital Video Editing) group presentations and a cultural programme. The potential longer term benefits of carrying out this project include:- being able to enhance Global learning and the European dimension in our organisation;- being able to further exploit the potential of ICT in the teaching and learning process; - disseminating skills and knowledge amongst other the other members of our organisation.As a result of carrying out this project we envisage a technologically confident learning environment.
