Within the EVS project "Connecting youth" one Lithuanian volunteer will be hosted by the HO "Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia" (FYCA) in Yerevan, Armenia. The volunteer of this project, Tomas Petrauskas, found the project in the database and initiated the partnership by applying for the project. Duration of the project is 6 months and it will start on the 1rst of September 2015. The proposed project intends to develop the international and intercultural understanding of children and youngsters in FYCA, by hosting an international volunteer. The integration of an EVS volunteer will establish an exchange of knowledge, will give local children and youngsters the opportunity to know about and to participate in cultural-educational activities. Working together with someone from a foreign country will give a chance to the local volunteers to learn the values of tolerance, equality and acceptance. Through this project it will be possible to introduce children and youngsters to different ways of inter cultural cooperation and teach them cultural awareness. In this way we can fight against racism, xenophobia and discrimination. On the other hand the EVS volunteer will benefit from the project, he will be actively involved in local cultural and educational activities in the hosting places, such as: “Healthy lifestyle” -- this activity is designed to inform the youth and the local volunteers about the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through sport and physical activity. “The country in my eyes” -- The EVS volunteer will be involved in this activity with the local volunteers of the organization. During this activity the EVS volunteer will visit different sight seeing place, will organize hiking in different regions of Armenia and this will become a photo trip for the EVS and local volunteers. The good pictures made by the EVS volunteers will be involved in the web page of the organization. “Restart the Nature” -- The volunteer will make presentations about environmental and nature protection issues in the world, and how these issues are addressed and solved in the EU countries. “Flies” -- The EVS volunteer will share interesting articles with others and illuminate the current news and activities of youth clubs with the young reporters of the RO, also the EVS volunteers may write articles for the FYCA website about the activities they wer participating actively "Bridge”- this task is about finding partners abroad for culture activities and try to find bridges.
